Peggy Sue Got Married

Knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
That's the premise of Peggy Sue Got Married, a film I have to admit I did not enjoy the first time around but have grown to love since. I just happened to catch it today and I was charmed at the innocence of 1960. Can you imagine, pantyhose hadn't been invented yet - remember when L'eggs actually came in a plastic egg - that was 1971!

What would it be like to re-visit yourself in High School? In my case would I re-visit my time spent at a Catholic girl's school or the public school that I graduated from?

Check out the tassels on the majorette's boots!

Bet you don't remember who else was in the movie besides Kathleen Turner and Nicolas Cage. How about Helen Hunt and Jim Carrey?

If you didn't much care for the movie like I orginally did, give it another chance. It is sweet and funny and I have to admit I teared up at the end. I think I'll have to get the DVD to add to my Chicklit DVD Library. If you'd like to nominate any other films for the libary let me know!

  1. Hello dear Bonnie! Oh dear, musn't cry in our champagne! Hankies are available at the door going into the theatre! Act three will climax, but you have a chance to guide Isabeau's fate! Stay tuned and I guarantee you will have a splendid time. You have a darling blog! Do you like Audrey Hepburn movies? I love her...beautiful, sweet and great clothes and style. Ah.......Ciao! Anita

  2. Hi Anita, no worries I had my own hanky with me -it's just that I was so moved by the play. Really, you do have a gift! I LOVE Audrey Hepburn movies, I love her in My Fair Lady and my favorite song is Wouldn't it be Loverly. I also like Roman Holiday, Breakfast at You Know Where, and Two for the Road. I don't know too many people that remember that film with Albert Finney. Ms. Hepburn seems to have experienced a great deal in her life and had so much class and style. I feel a BLOG coming on! Have a great weekend.

  3. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I lived in San Diego for 1 year...went to second grade the early 60's! Lived in the Point Loma area and the school was on Rosecrans Blvd.I think. You've stirred up some memories for me today! Have a great week!

  4. Hi Bonnie! I LOVE this movie! My favorite part is her visit to her grandparents...makes me think about having a chance to relive visits and be old enough to actually appreciate them! Hope you are having a good week!!!...hugs...Debbie

  5. I just watched it about a month ago... I couldn't remember a lot of it... I didn't have time to watch the whole thing... I might have to rent it... thanks for reminding me!

  6. Hello Bonnie!
Thanks for entering! I was rather sad that I only received one but now there is a real contest!!!! You may submit your entry on my email:

I look forward to reading it. And oh, talk about class, I am aiming to grow old gracefully and look like or rather dress like, Audrey Hepburn. Don't you just love black and pearls? I don't wait to wear that at night; I will wear black and pearls to work!!!

I hope San Diego weather is treating you well. It is snowing out here!!!

Send me your submission and let the contest begin this Saturday! Anita
