My other fun activity around the house is ironing. Bear in mind that the less ironing the better and I really do check for wash and wear items when I’m out scouting for new clothes. But like the laundry, I find ironing a relaxing experience.
Martha and I share something in common!
Speaking of ironing, I must mention that my cat has taken up a new hobby, lying on the ironing board. I’m going to guess that the ironing board cover is a cool place to be during the hot summer months. He’ll stretch out and take a snooze, occasionally falling off though it doesn’t seem to faze him. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I’ll find him just sitting by himself on the ironing board. Just sitting and meditating, I’m assuming, like some wise old sage.
It's amazing what you'll find when you google cats on ironing boards!
And so speaking of cats, I leave you with this little funny of cats with thumbs. You’ll enjoy it!
Now that you've had your giggle for the day, enjoy a tall cool glass of lemonade and what's left of summer!
Enjoy your week!
Hahahha, that cat splayed out on the ironing board!!! I adore cats, and if my cats had thumbs,I'd be in trouble!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat cats with thumbs advert is my favourite, it's the only one I can watch on tv!

Your post brought sweet memories of my mother. She loved doing laundry and ironing!! Even though she had household help she never turned that duty over. Her clotheslines had to be taut. First she did whites, then lights, and lastly the dark colors. Like items hung together. She also judged people in the neighborhood on how they hung their laundry. I think she would have liked you.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI visited your blog tonight - I saw you on Castles, Crowns, and Cottages. Aren't Anita's posts wonderful? Your blog is so pretty, colorful, and charming. I love the saying on your side bar "Life is Beautiful." The picture of Brigette Bardot is lovely. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you - your blog is so cheerful. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet evening.

What is it about goddam dishes? They're like mould - never stop growing! Whereas like you, I really like laundry and when I've hung it out I like to stand back and admire my "handiwork". Ironing is another I like doing especially while watching an old movie - just don't watch one with subtitles - ouch!! xo
ReplyDeleteBONNIE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLook at that KITTY!!!! Dearest, how are YOU???? Are you working? Well, I go back on Tuesday and I have so much to do before then....but just wanted to come to visit you. THank you for your visit and Rabbit Hill is delightful. I don't think you came to my OPEN HOUSE back in June but our new addition is really making life a lot easier. Ruben has his space to write and I have mine. AND we can now have more people over at a time for gatherings!!
I wish you a lovely fall....ours is not quite here, but by the end of October, we will be in full swing.
Sending you much love dearest Bonnie! Anita

Haha love the picture of the cat on the ironing board - sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit like you with my laundry - I hang like items next to each other so when they are dry they can be put in the right places next to each other hehe!
