Hi everybody, my apologies for a rather prolonged absence from the blogging scene. I haven't been well these last few months but I've decided the best therapy is to get blogging again but how to bring you up to date? I thought maybe a fun way to do that would be to recap a recent phone conversation I had with my friend Heidi from back home.

Heidi and I met back in the deep dark 80s when we both took 80s fashion seriously from big hair to big shoulders...thankfully, we have moved on!

the 80s!

After a discussion on friends, family, weather and recent goings on, we got to the good stuff like....Dancing With the Stars! We were outraged and declared it a travesty that Kirstie Alley made it not only to the final three but to the top two! She robbed both Ralph Macchio and Chelsea Kane of their rightful spots in the finals.

Kirstie and Max

Thank goodness Hines Ward and Kym Johnson won the mirror ball trophy or I would have fallen out of bed and thought the world had gone completely mad!

The adorable Chelsea Kane with Mark Ballas. Chelsea was cute as a button, talented and a worthy competitor.

Chelsea and Mark

Heidi and I felt that the final dance competition should have been between Hines and Chelsea. It seems like the voting is more about fan base than true talent. Anyway, I look forward to the next chapter in Dancing With the Stars. With all the seriousness going on in the world today, I enjoyed being swept away if only for a little while.

Ok, who got up and watched the wedding? You know which one! I admit to getting up at 3:30 in the morning all bleary eyed and watching...well, in between cat napping that is.

Young William all grown up

So I hear that Will and Kate will be in southern California this summer. What are the odds that they will be staying with the Beckhams?

The Beckham's at the royal wedding

Wouldn't it be fun if they had a reality show called Bunking With The Beckhams?

I'd like to let the duke and duchess know that Disneyland and SeaWorld both have exciting and fun new attractions this summer so start saving up!

Aaargh! I seem to have misplaced my camera! I had some photos to share but that will have to wait for another time. I remember taking pictures outside last Sunday and now can't remember where I placed my camera. Wish me luck.

Have a great week!

  3. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well & caught a hint you may still be on your road back to health (?) Anyway, it IS good to have you back. I DID watch part of the wedding and almost NONE of Dancing w.t. Stars. I'm not a huge TV fan, but for the first time I watched American Idol. I was a little embarrassed by how much I was into that show!

I don't think I'll even get started with another show like that. It took up WAY too much of my time (a little like blogging has a way of doing, ha!)

  5. How fun to see you back in blogland, Bonnie! You have been missed! Sorry you have not been well. I hope all is better for you now. I soooo totally agree with you about DWTS and I am glad that Hines got the trophy. As for the wedding...I saw parts of it. In my mind, nothing will compete with Charles and Diana's...although I hope this marriage is better! I saw the Princess Di memorial in Paris...so sad! Looking forward to more posts from you! Hope you are having a good week...hugs...Debbie

  7. Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear that you are unwell and hope it helps to be back with your brilliantly clever blogging friends and me!!

Go for that pimento cheese and leave out the pimentos. Call it pimentoless cheese. It's the sweet pickle relish that makes it so delicious. Oh, and having my sisters around to help me eat it.

    Take care.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  10. Hi thanks for stopping by, so sorry to hear that you have not been too good. I must admit I watched the whole wedding, but then I did not have to stay up, just avoid doing the housework. Bunking with the Bechams sounds like a good headline. Stay wellxxxx
