A little tribute to dogs everywhere!

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent.
~Milan Kundera ~

The once popular dog name FIDO is from the Latin word meaning "fidelity."

He is my most sincere admirer; he loves me though he has never read my work!
~Rudyard Kipling on his cocker spaniel~

Ah, city life!

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

I am the philospher Diogenes, the DOG. I nuzzle the kind, bark at the greedy, and bite scoundrels.
~Diogenes~

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.
~Gilda Radner~

Nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless he's owned by a dog.
~Gene Hill~

To err is human. To forgive canine.
~Unknown~

Every dog must have his day.
~Jonathan Swift~

Be tuff ! The "dog days" of summer can be wuff !

My little dog...a heartbeat at my feet.
~Edith Wharton~

And speaking of a heartbeat at my feet, here's a recent photo of my darling Sadie. As you can see she has the dreaded e-collar framing her lovely face. Sadie Love had an ulcer on her cornea resulting in the need for a keratotomy. Apparently the condition is common in Boxers (Sadie is half Boxer) and older dogs (Sadie is 12 years old), a double whammy, I guess. In any event she is progressing nicely and sends her regards.

Sadielicious

PS - notice the stickers on the e-collar? It's sort of the equivalent of people signing your cast!

  2. Hi Bonnie! How fun to see all of those wonderful dogs! I have to admit that although I am a cat person through and through, I do enjoy a visit with my daughter's six dogs. (It's my fault that she has so many. I told her that when she got her own place, she could have as many as she wants! lol) My little chihuahua granddog Paco is my favorite, though. The staff sends their regards to Miss Sadie for a speedy recovery! Happy weekend...hugs...Debbie

  4. Love the dog post! Just think, if you hung some yarn and bling off of Sadies collar, kitty could have had a field day. I can just picture that scene now. Sadie running to you with those big brown eyes pleading for help....no new news on the Texas front but the guys are planning a father/daughter outing at the shooting range dinner and a movie. I'm hoping it works out for them!

  5. Dearest Bonnie! Thank you for coming to check up on the baby robins!!! Yes, they flew the coop on Friday and guess what? Mrs. Robinson has "Empty nest syndrome!" She came back several times today, got into the nest, wiggled around in it, poked at the bottom, had straw in her beak, and wiggled around some more! I think she just wants to get the scent of her progeny....what a wonder nature is!!! How are you dearest? Anita

  8. Hi Bonnie,

I hope your precious Sadie is much better. I had a boxer/great dane mix for years (Trixie). She was a pound pup.
Our baby is Tommy (a 75 lb Basset hound). He weighs almost as much as me-hehe.

    big hugs,
    Barb

  9. BONNIE! To see you on my comments page is endearing and fabulous and brings back sweet memories of earlier blogging days! HOW ARE YOU? HOW IS SADILICIOUS??? I hope that she is free from that Queen Anne collar now, and is enjoying life in SD. Girl, I wish I could see you; we are leaving on June 19 and I am so excited. Thank you for coming down, and isn't blue a great color? I hope to see blue skies when I am in CA; I hear that up in SF where I will be for 3 days, that it has been raining a bit. Oh well, seeing my sister-in-law will be the treat I am looking for!

Bisous to you dearest and give a squeeze to the furry ones!! Anita
