The holiday spirit is swirling around me after spending the day after Thanksgiving watching all the HGTV decorating specials. Forget Black Friday, it is my annual day to splurge and do absolutely nothing but soak up all the Christmas decorating ideas I can! It's become my tradition.
I was reminded of Nigella Lawson's Christmas special that aired about two years ago. I enjoyed following along by watching Nigella cook up some of her holiday traditions. I love Nigella Lawson because she is straight forward with her recipes, they are uncomplicated and unfussy. I thought it would be fun to follow Nigella over the next few weeks with her Christmas special that appeared on the Food Network.

This and that about Nigella Lawson:
Did you know that in 2001 Nigella declined an OBE from the queen? However as the daughter of a life peer, Nigella is entitled to the courtesy title of "the Honorable."
Her son Bruno recently told her, You have no idea how delicious KFC is.' And she said, 'I'm sure you're right, but I'm not gonna give it to you.
Is an avid supporter of the Chelsea Football Club.
Here's part 1 of Nigella's Christmas Kitchen:
Stay tuned for parts 2 & 3
Look forward to visiting everyone's blogs for more Christmas inspiration!
Happy Holidays!
I wanna look like her when I grow up!

Oh Bonnie dear! I am so late today, but my first day back after Thanksgiving has been so crazy! I LOVE YOUR YOU TUBE CLIPS! Yes, this is the time of such fun and festivities and what better way to connect than through FOOD! Awesome I tell you, AWESOME! Oh how I wish we could sup together! Love, peace and health to you dear friend! Anita
ReplyDeleteI just had to come back for more. Just wondering how you are doing dear one. I love your music and the brightness of your spirit, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteHey, I see you visited Nocturne!!!! Do you know that this post was just a tester to see if I could get the chandelier to work? But I will be following up with a little post of tea at the tea salon! Merry Christmas dear one! Anita
I love Nigella! And the KFC quote is priceless. I just love your blog, I thought I was following but I wasn't! I just got through reading some posts I've missed. Thanks for the review of Precious, I had hesitated seeing it because I thought it would be too depressing. Have a wonderful week. Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi there-LOL at the KFC quote, a typical comment!! Wishing you a lovely week my dear!
ReplyDeleteOh, how funny (the KFC quote)!! I like Nigella too. I read a long article about her in the New Yorker and I have been a fan since. Haven't been keeping up with television too much except for some Christmas movies on Lifetime...
ReplyDeleteSorry I have missed some of your posts. My blogroll is so long and it is my fault for following so many blogs... I'm working on it!
xoxo

Oh dearest one!!! YOU KNOW THAT SONG TOO! Isn't it catchy?? AND..I thank you for your Hawaiian Christmas greeting! I am going to add that in. I wanted to respect as many languages from my friends' cultural heritage, and I knew that you had a Portuguese background, but off to my dashboard I go to add this delightful one in my post! I was so tired last night doing it, knowing that today would have to be dedicated to writing a literature review for a class. I couldn't find the photos I wanted of all the food I had in my mind!! Anyhooooooo....you are a dear and I so cherish those photos that you sent. Blessings to you my dearest one! Oh, did I tell you about the blog post that Ulla did on our visit? Check it out. Go to her blog from my bloglist and see our house, if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and the furry ones!!! Anita
What a kind and sweet comment my friend, over at Ulla's....you would be welcome for an enchanting stay at Rabbit Hill, the name of our home. We would dream of beauty and like I said, we would spend hours laughing at Rattus's Tales and such....Bisous, ANita
